Terms of Service
The terms that apply when you use Telvu.
These terms and who we are
Telvu is provided by Telvu Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales(company number 17361767), registered office 14 Raleigh Crescent, Stevenage, SG2 0EQ. These terms apply when a restaurant subscribes to and uses Telvu, our AI phone receptionist service. By booking a setup call and using the service, a restaurant agrees to these terms.
The service
Telvu answers calls to a restaurant's phone line, takes orders and bookings, logs complaints, connects to the restaurant's till/POS where supported, and gives the owner control and updates via WhatsApp. Exact features available depend on the plan chosen (see Pricing).
Call recording and data handling
- Calls answered by Telvu on a restaurant's line may be recorded and transcribed to provide the service (order accuracy, booking confirmation, complaint logging and reporting).
- The restaurant is responsible for ensuring callers are informed that calls may be recorded and are handled by an AI assistant, in line with UK telecoms and data protection law.
- How call data, recordings and transcripts are stored, retained and protected is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Data processing terms (restaurants)
This section applies when a restaurant uses Telvu to answer its calls. It sets out how we handle that restaurant's callers' personal data, and forms part of the agreement between us.
- Who is responsible for what. The people ringing are the restaurant's customers, so the restaurant decides why their data is used and is the controller. Telvu acts on the restaurant's instructions and is the processor. Telvu is a controller only for its own business records: enquiries, accounts and billing.
- What we process. The caller's phone number and name, a recording and transcript of the call, and whatever the call was about: order items and delivery address, booking date, time and party size, allergy or access notes, and complaints.
- What we do with it. Only what is needed to run the service the restaurant signed up for: answer the call, take the order or booking, log the complaint, message the owner, and produce that restaurant's own reports. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it to market to callers.
- How long we keep it. Only as long as needed to provide the service and give the restaurant its records. A restaurant can set a defined retention limit, and can ask us to delete specific call data at any time.
- Who else sees it. The providers listed in our Privacy Policy, each processing only on our instructions. We will tell the restaurant before we add a new one that handles caller data.
- Where it goes. Some of those providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, appropriate safeguards apply.
- Keeping it safe. Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to people who need it, and each restaurant's data is separated at database level, so one restaurant's account cannot reach another's callers. Anyone with access is under a duty of confidence.
- Helping with callers' requests. If a caller asks the restaurant for a copy of their data, or asks to be deleted, we will help find and action it. There is no charge for reasonable requests.
- If something goes wrong. If caller data is lost or exposed, we will tell the restaurant without undue delay and share what we know, so they can meet their own reporting duties.
- When a restaurant leaves. On request we will delete the restaurant's call data or return it. Anything we keep afterwards is kept only for as long as the law requires.
- Records and questions. A restaurant can ask us in writing for the information it needs to satisfy its own data-protection obligations, and we will provide it within a reasonable time.
Pricing, billing and fair use
Plans and prices are shown on Pricing and billed monthly. Call caps are a fair-use guide, not a hard cut-off. A restaurant regularly over its plan's cap will be moved to a plan that fits, with no surprise bills. There are no setup fees.
Cancellation
There is no long-term contract. A restaurant can cancel its Telvu subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless otherwise agreed.
Accuracy and limitations
Telvu answers calls using the information a restaurant provides (menu, hours, prices, policies) and aims to be accurate, but it is not infallible. Telvu escalates anything it can't confidently answer to the owner rather than guessing. Restaurants should keep menu and hours information up to date so Telvu can answer correctly.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts ofEngland and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example as the service changes. We'll let restaurants know of any material changes.
